Holistic eye health for every member of your family.
We know that how we manage your vision today has a big impact on how well you’ll see the world tomorrow.
The key is spotting potential eye health issues before they become major or irreversible.
To achieve this our practice utilises the latest technology, such as our OCT-A machine, which allows us to see changes in the blood vessels beneath the retina and macular, a warning sign for Glaucoma or Macular Degeneration. By picking up on these problems at the earliest possible stage we can advise you on the best options to manage your condition going forward.
But along with caring for your vision, we want you to look great too.
That’s why we offer a wide range of contemporary frames, with something guaranteed to suit everyone in your family.
Protect your future eye health by visiting us in-store or booking an appointment here.

Your Eye Health Is Our Priority
Eye examinations can help you discover vision problems that may need attention. Some eye disorders are silent and can only be treated if detected early; a thorough eye examination is therefore recommended at least once every two years for everyone – even if you are not experiencing any difficulties.
A comprehensive eye exam is more than just a vision check. It also assess the entirety of your eye health, which can even provide a good indication of your overall health. Glaucoma, cataracts and macular degeneration are only some of the things we look for as part of the check.
A child’s early years are especially important for their development. If their visual system is not functioning well, it could result in them struggling to read and falling behind at school, or have particular difficulty in sporting activities. Often, they would be assessed for a behavioural problem. Here at Westgate Optometrists, we assess the child’s current visual abilities and determine if there is an underlying issue, and can discuss whether visual training is suitable for your child.
Dry Eye Therapy
Dry eyes (or watery eyes) are surprisingly common, and can be pesky and difficult to address, often requiring in-office treatments which we provide here. We will also give you plenty of practical advice that you can do to help manage the condition, so it doesn’t interfere with your daily life.
Whether you’re looking to try contact lenses for the first time, or simply would like more out of your contact lenses, we can help with that. We have access to all the lenses on the market including multifocal or even specialty contact lenses. This means that we can make impartial recommendations specific to your eyes, taking into account your eye health and intended tasks for the lenses.
The continued worsening of your child’s shortsightedness can be a worrying experience. While there is no definitive cure at the moment, there are treatment options which have been shown to be greatly effective in slowing down the progression. These can be suitable for children as young as 5 years old.
If you or a loved one suffers from deteriorating vision and have been told there is nothing that can be done to improve their eyesight, a low vision consultation to help maximize the remaining amounts of vision can help to improve the quality of life. We focus on understanding your situation, any visual goals you may have, and provide you with all the options available, including any subsidies or referral to organizations as needed.
Whether we like it or not, we spend great amounts of time on our jobs most days of the week. Often, these are demanding on our eyes, and can even be hazardous. We put in the effort to understand your specific needs, whether that be a solution for viewing all your devices in an office-based environment, safety eyewear when working in a workshop, or anything in between.
